Updated! Completely Random Photo of the Day: Another Overpriced…

Before the holidays, (have you, like me, still not recovered from the holidays?  Do you still suffer from Holiday PTS?  Well, I’m sure there’s a medication for us.  I’m sure the pharmaceutical complex is developing one just for folks like you and me.   Which will have a horrifying long list of side effects.  Which I’ll totally ignore, just to stop the holiday shakes) your friendly neighborhood jman did a post, Completely Random Photo of the Day: Another Overpriced, about a totally awesome Marvel Box set I found at (of all places) the Disney Store.  The set was (and still is) priced was too high.  And I left it on the shelf, unbought.

Tales from the Vacation: Discussion of Ridemakerz

A few weeks ago, your friendly neighborhood jman was at Downtown Disney.  You can read all about my exploits here.  While I was there, I happened upon the Ridemakerz store in Team Mickey’s Athletic Club.  You can read all about that experience here.  And if you continue onward, you’ll be able to read all about my thoughts on my purchase.  Consider this article a spin-off of my Tales from the Vacation series I know you’ve been keeping up with.

Because I really didn’t get a chance to “build” or “play” with any of the cars while Kelly Marie and I were in the Ridemakerz shop in Downtown Disney, I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered my ride off the Ridemakerz website.

Photo Essay: DC Collectible New52 Justice League Superman

Well…since we’ve covered most of the other DC Collectibles New52 Justice League line, we might as well talk about Superman.  Not that talking about Superman is a chore for your friendly neighborhood jman.  Not at all!  I can talk Sman all the day long.

Discussion: Superboy Annual #1

I know it’s not “cool” to admit, even in the comic book community, but Superman is my favorite superhero.  Yea.  That’s right.  You read that right.  Better than Batman, Cap, Wolverine (or any of the X men for that matter), and even Spider-man.  Although, Spidey does run a pretty close second.

Supes is the reason I got into comics in the first place.  Shortly after my grandfather took me to see Superman:  The movie (yup, I saw it back in 78, first run, in an actual movie theater), I joined the defunct Superman fan club.  And because the fan club was defunct even back then, I ended up getting a subscription to the Superman comic book.  And the rest is your friendly neighborhood jman’s history.

But, wait!  There’s more!  You just gotta click on this link, to read the rest of the article “Discussion:  Superboy Annual #1” over at comicbookcritic.net.  And that’s not all.  If you click right now, we’ll send you there twice as fast, then we would if you didn’t 1.  So click NOW!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Pt2.

How many “events” do I cover that warrant a two part article?  Well, now that I think about it…a lot.   But that’s probably more because your friendly neighborhood jman has this tendency to drone on and on and on.  Really, though, that’s neither here nor there.  So before I bog this article down in any more self defeating arguments, let’s just pick up where we last left off

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Pt1

Some people say Christmas is there favorite time of year.  Some people think summer.  Me?  Four days in February are my favorite.  Yes…96 hours in the dead of winter is my favorite time of the year.  What gives?  How could anyone possibly like the deadest, the coldest, the bleakest days in the year?  Well…I’ll tell ya.

I’m talking TOY FAIR!!!

Discussion – Wolverine: Old Man Logan

I was at my local Barnes and Noble the other day, when I came across this Trade collection.  Now, before we go any further, there’s a few things you should know about your friendly neighborhood jman.  First, for many years I was out of comics.  Many years.  I missed a lot of stuff from the late 90’s probably through 2010.  That’s a lot of time, right!?!?  Don’t get me wrong, I picked up a few issues here and there over that stretch, but nothing for any great period of time.  So, needless to say, I missed A LOT of good stuff.

You can check out the rest of the article, Discussion – Wolverine:  Old Man Logan, over at comicbookcritic.net.  Now, I don’t normally mind you wasting time here, but you should REALLY head on over there to read the rest of my genius thoughts on the book.
